Four-stroke models

Check the fuel system: The engine should start and idle smoothly. Check the fuel lines, filters, and VST for signs of clogs or debris.
Ask about maintenance: Inquire about the maintenance history. Neglected engines are prone to issues, even if they run well initially.
Confirm the model year: Cross-reference the model number on the identification plate with Yamaha’s year code system to confirm the engine’s age.
