- Engine: All 2014 and 2015 models came with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine.
 - Horsepower and torque: The engine produces 74 horsepower and 74 lb-ft of torque.
 - Transmission: A five-speed manual transmission was standard, with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) as an option.
 - Fuel economy: The CVT-equipped models achieved the best fuel efficiency, with an EPA rating of 37 mpg city and 44 mpg highway.

- DE: The entry-level trim included features like automatic climate control, power accessories, and a USB audio interface.
 - ES: The higher-end trim added features such as Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, push-button start, and upgraded seat fabrics.

- Engine noise and power: The small three-cylinder engine can be loud and feel underpowered, particularly at higher speeds.
 - CVT issues: There are reports of issues with the CVT, including transmission pressure problems (codes P0796 and P2859), and difficulty shifting in older, higher-mileage vehicles. A class action lawsuit was filed alleging a defect in the CVT for several Mitsubishi models.
 - Rough ride: The vehicle’s light weight and suspension are often criticized for contributing to a rough, unstable ride, especially on the highway.
 - Early engine issues: Some early 2014 and 2015 models reportedly experienced mechanical knocking and “fuel flooding” during cold starts, potentially caused by over-rich fuel mixtures and leading to oil dilution. Mitsubishi issued recalls for ECU software updates to address this.
 - Brake and tire wear: Owners have reported premature wear of brake pads and tires.
 - Interior quality: Reviewers have noted that interior materials feel cheap.

- Airbag wiring corrosion (2014–2015): A recall was issued for vehicles sold in certain states where melting snow could corrode a wiring connector, potentially delaying airbag deployment in a crash.
 - Airbag impact sensor (2014): A recall was issued for some 2014 models due to an issue with the airbag impact sensor that could cause delayed or failed deployment of the airbags.
