Repair Surge Platform
- 6.2-Liter Boss V8 (Gasoline): The standard engine for base F-250 and F-350 trims. It generates 385 Horsepower and 430 lb-ft of Torque, offering a reliable, low-maintenance pushrod configuration.
- 7.3-Liter Godzilla V8 (Gasoline): An absolute beast of a pushrod cast-iron gas block. It cranks out 430 Horsepower and 475 lb-ft of Torque, optimized for commercial fleets wanting high displacement durability without diesel emission hardware.
- 6.7-Liter Power Stroke V8 (Turbo Diesel): The high-output towing heavyweight. It unleashes a massive 475 Horsepower and a staggering 1,050 lb-ft of Torque at a low 1,600 RPM.
- F-250 / F-350: Traditional consumer and heavy commercial pickup platforms. Available in Single Rear Wheel (SRW) or Dual Rear Wheel (DRW/Dually) layouts, built predominantly for heavy fifth-wheel and gooseneck hauling.
- F-450 (Pickup & Chassis): The pickup version features a specialized “wide-track” front axle for an incredibly tight turning radius alongside massive commercial brakes. The chassis cab version acts as a flatbed foundation.
- F-550 / F-600 (Chassis Cab Only): Built strictly for severe industrial use (dump trucks, utility buckets, heavy tow trucks). The F-600 uniquely crams the physical exterior footprint of a Class 5 truck but upgrades the internal axles, brakes, 22.5-inch wheels, and chassis rails to deliver Class 6 medium-duty weight ratings (GVWR up to 22,000 lbs).
- Front Axle Hub / Steering Wobble (“Death Wobble”): While Ford has heavily modified the steering dampeners, legacy solid front axle geometry on 4×4 models can still experience intense front-end vibration over harsh highway bumps if track bar bushings or tie-rod ends wear prematurely. Regular suspension component inspections are vital.
- EGR Cooler & CP4.2 Diesel Prevention: The 6.7L Power Stroke engine utilizes the robust Bosch fuel injection system. However, ultra-clean diesel fuel and consistent fuel filter replacement intervals (every 15,000 miles) are absolute law. Any moisture contamination in the fuel tank will cause catastrophic internal pump shedding, resulting in a complete fuel system replacement.
- Trailer Brake Controller Module Recall: Ford issued a widespread safety recall (NHTSA Campaign 22V211000) for select 2022 Super Duty trucks. A software glitch in the integrated trailer brake module can cause the trailer brakes to fail to apply when the driver taps the brake pedal, significantly increasing stopping distances. Dealerships perform a quick module reflash to remedy this.
- Wiper Motor Failure Recall: A recall was initiated for early 2022 production builds where the internal electric windshield wiper motor could completely cease operating during heavy rain, blinding the driver. Dealerships swap the entire wiper assembly.
