The 5.5L engine was introduced in the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, while the 6.2L LT2 engine powered the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray in both 2022 and 2023. The 5.5L engine was not available in the 2022 Corvette.
2022 and 2023 Corvette Stingray (6.2L)
The standard engine for the 2022 and 2023 Corvette Stingray is the 6.2L LT2 V8.

- Horsepower: 490 horsepower (hp) and 465 lb-ft of torque.
- With performance exhaust or Z51 package: 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.
- 0–60 mph: Can be achieved in under 3 seconds with the Z51 Performance Package.
- Features:
- Variable Valve Timing (VVT).
- Active Fuel Management™.
- Dry-sump oil system.
- Availability: Offered on the Stingray 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT trims.
2023 Corvette Z06 (5.5L)
The 5.5L LT6 V8 engine is exclusive to the track-focused 2023 Corvette Z06, which first became available for the 2023 model year.
- Performance:
- Horsepower: 670 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.
- Flat-Plane Crankshaft: This engine uses a flat-plane crankshaft, which allows for an extremely high redline of 8,600 rpm.
- 0–60 mph: As low as 2.6 seconds when equipped with the Z07 Performance Package.
- Features:
- Dual overhead camshafts (DOHC).
- Dry-sump oil system.
- Racing-inspired exhaust note, which is reverberated toward the driver.
- Availability: Only on the Z06 model, which was new for the 2023 model year.
