- Electric motor: The Spark EV is powered by an electric motor that provides 140 horsepower.
- Torque: Torque was reduced to 327 lb-ft for the 2015 model year, down from 400 lb-ft in 2014, although the car is still noted for its punchy acceleration.
- Acceleration: It can go from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 7.2 seconds.
- Range: The EPA-estimated range is 82 miles on a full charge from its 18.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
- Level 2 charging (240V): A full charge takes approximately 7 hours. This is notably slower than many competitors due to its 3.3-kilowatt onboard charger.
- Level 1 charging (120V): Using a standard household outlet can take around 20 hours.
- DC Fast charging (optional): With the optional SAE combo DC fast-charge port, the battery can reach 80% capacity in about 20 minutes.
- Infotainment: Standard features include the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with a 7-inch color touchscreen, Bluetooth, and smartphone app integration.
- Connectivity: A new feature for 2015 was the addition of a 4G LTE and Wi-Fi hotspot through the OnStar telematics system.
- Seating: Despite its small size, it features a surprisingly roomy interior and seating for four. Standard equipment includes heated front seats.
- Trims: The Spark EV was available in two trims, 1LT and 2LT. The 2LT added leatherette premium vinyl upholstery.
- Hood Latch Recall: A recall was issued for 2013–2015 Spark EVs because the secondary hood latch could corrode and prevent the hood from properly engaging.
- Airbag Software Recall: Some 2015 Spark EVs were part of a larger GM recall to reflash the airbag software, which could prevent the frontal airbags and seatbelt pretensioners from deploying during a crash.
- Radio Software Recall: Certain 2015 Sparks with a base radio and OnStar were recalled due to a software issue that could cause the display and all audio functions to freeze. This affected safety chimes for the seatbelt and key-in-ignition reminders.
- Battery Issues: Some owners have reported issues with the battery management system or charging port failures, which can prevent the vehicle from charging
