- The SS “Flowtie” Experiment: The 2019 SS trim moved the Chevy bowtie emblem down to the center black grille bar and hollowed it out (creating a functional “flowtie” to increase engine airflow). Due to intense enthusiast backlash regarding the blacked-out center bumper bar, Chevrolet rushed an emergency styling fix to production for the subsequent 2020 model year.
- RS & LT Packages: Received a more traditional, body-colored split grille layout with the bowtie emblem sitting conventionally in the upper grille segment, accented by updated dual-element LED headlamps.
- 2.0L Turbo 4-Cylinder: 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. It comes paired with a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic. For 2019, it could finally be optioned with the track-ready 1LE Performance Package.
- 3.6L Naturally Aspirated V6: 335 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission.
- 6.2L LT1 V8 (SS Trims): 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque. While the 6-speed manual remained standard, the optional automatic upgraded from the old 8-speed to the lightning-fast 10-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission (co-developed with Ford).
- 6.2L Supercharged LT4 V8 (ZL1 Flagship): 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 6-speed manual or a heavy-duty 10-speed automatic transmission.
- Chevrolet Infotainment 3: Debuted across the entire line, replacing the older MyLink architecture. The new system features a sharper layout, faster processing, and standardized Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across 7-inch or 8-inch touchscreens.
- Rear Camera Mirror: Introduced on higher trims (2LT, 3LT, and 2SS). It streams a wide-angle digital video feed straight to the rearview mirror housing, completely eliminating the rear roof pillar blind spots common to the Camaro coupe chassis.
- Forward Collision Alert: Added as an optional active safety assist package for coupe configurations.
- 8-Speed Transmission Shudder (2.0T and V6 Models): While the SS received the excellent 10-speed automatic, 2019 models utilizing the 8L45 8-speed automatic transmission are still highly susceptible to torque converter clutch shuddering. If the vehicle feels like it is driving over rumble strips under steady acceleration, verify if it has received the revised Mobil 1 Synthetic LV ATF HP fluid flush prescribed under TSB 18-NA-355.
- Steering Shaft Lock Defect (Recall N182206410): A factory safety recall affected a localized batch of 2019 models. An incorrectly machined internal component in the electric power steering gear assembly could allow a internal lock pin to engage on the move, leading to a sudden, catastrophic loss of steering control.
- Rear Axle Differential Chatter: Performance models equipped with the mechanical or electronic limited-slip differential (eLSD) regularly develop a distinct groan or chattering noise when turning tightly at parking lot speeds. Flushing the unit and filling it with fresh ACDelco Dexron LS gear lubricant typically quietens the internal clutch packs.
