- Engine: All models in this range are powered by the Rotax 1330cc in-line triple engine.
- 2015 Models: All trims (F3 and F3-S) produced 115 horsepower.
- 2016-2018 Models: The base F3 was detuned to 105 horsepower, while the F3-T, F3-S, and Limited models maintained 115 horsepower.
- Transmissions: Available with either a 6-speed manual (SM6) or a 6-speed semi-automatic (SE6) transmission, both with reverse.
- Body Styles & Trims:
- F3 (Base/S): The standard cruiser model. The “S” trim typically added features like cruise control, upgraded trim, and gloss black wheels.
- F3-T (Touring): Introduced in 2016, the F3-T added integrated hard saddlebags (21 gallons of capacity), a front console with a glovebox, a tinted windscreen, and an air-adjustable rear suspension.
- F3 Limited: Also introduced in 2016, this top-tier model included all F3-T features plus a 4-speaker audio system, heated grips, floorboards instead of pegs, and an automatic air-adjustable rear suspension.
- Riding Position (UFit System): A major selling point of the F3 series was the “UFit” system, allowing riders to adjust footpeg positions and handlebar options for personalized comfort.
- Technology & Safety: All models featured BRP’s Vehicle Stability System (VSS), which includes stability control, traction control, and anti-lock brakes (ABS), all developed in cooperation with Bosch. The 2018 model year saw the introduction of a new full-color dash display.
- Sprocket Wear Recall: A major safety recall was issued for certain 2015-2019 F3 and RT models due to premature wear on the front sprocket (output shaft) which could lead to a sudden loss of drive power.
- DESS (Digitally Encoded Security System) Issues: Some owners reported problems with the DESS, a security feature that can cause starting problems.
- Electrical/Control Issues: Malfunctioning left-handle control modules have been a reported issue, especially on 2018 models, which BRP addressed with a technical service bulletin.
- Minor Glitches: Owners report other minor, infrequent electrical or sensor issues, but no widespread major mechanical failures with proper maintenance.
