- Haynes Manuals US: Provides a comprehensive printed and digital workshop package detailing routine maintenance, symptom-based fault finding, brake overhauls, and specific GM powertrain wiring diagrams.
- Repair Surge Platform: Offers a searchable, cloud-based factory-approved digital database covering torque values, wiring schematics, code diagnostics, and fluid specs tailored by exact engine and trim.
- Factory Manuals OEM Specialists: Delivers a massive, VIN-matched interactive PDF service file pulled straight from GM factory databases, providing exact dealer-level repair and assembly procedures.
- Standard Engine: 2.0-Liter Turbocharged Inline 4-Cylinder (LSY).
- Output:237 Horsepower and 258 lb-ft of Torque.
- Fuel Requirement: Requires Premium unleaded gasoline.
- Available Engine: 3.6-Liter Naturally Aspirated V6 (LGX).
- Output:310 Horsepower and 271 lb-ft of Torque.
- Fuel Requirement: Accepts Regular unleaded gasoline.
- Transmission Class: Upgraded 9-speed automatic transmission featuring a center rotary control knob.
- Drivetrain Choices: Available in standard Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) or a proactive All-Wheel Drive (AWD) matrix.
- Luxury (Base): Serves as the starting point, equipped standard with the 2.0L Turbo engine, standard suspension tuning, and 18-inch wheels.
- Premium Luxury: Focuses heavily on bright exterior chrome accents, exotic cabin wood inserts, extra safety alert tech, and the option to upgrade to the 3.6L V6.
- Sport: Features a standard 3.6L V6 engine, aggressive black mesh grilles, clear taillight lenses, dark trim accents, a performance-oriented twin-clutch AWD system, and a Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension system.
- Rearview Camera Recall: General Motors issued a widespread safety recall (NHTSA Campaign 22V709000) for select 2020 XT5 models equipped with the optional Surround Vision 360-degree camera setup. The coaxial cable connectors can fail or function intermittently, resulting in a blank screen. Dealers replace the cable free of charge.
- Sunroof Drain Water Leaks: A common issue noted across early XT5 models (2017–2020) involves the front and rear sunroof drainage tubes becoming clogged with outdoor debris. When blocked, rainwater backs up and drips into the cabin A-pillars, potentially damaging the vehicle’s floor carpets and sensitive body control electrical modules.
- Electronic Shifter Hesitation: The Electronic Precision Shift system can occasionally experience software or hardware hiccups, leading to shift hesitation or throwing an service-lock message on the dash instructing the driver to step on the brake firmly before shifting.
- Roof-Rail Airbag Recall: A small batch of 2020 units were recalled due to improperly crimped roof-rail airbag inflator diffusers. If the diffuser separates during deployment, airbag performance drops significantly.
