The 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ is the brand’s first-ever all-electric vehicle, built on General Motors’ new Ultium battery platform. It entered the market as a high-tech luxury SUV with head-turning styling and a focus on comfort and a quiet, refined ride.

Powertrain and performance

The 2023 LYRIQ was offered in two versions, both powered by a 102.0 kWh Ultium battery pack.

Rear-wheel drive (RWD):
- Horsepower and torque: 340 hp and 325 lb-ft.
- Range: EPA-estimated 312 miles on a full charge.
- Charging: An available 19.2 kW onboard charger could add up to 52 miles of range per hour when using a Level 2 (240V) AC charger.
All-wheel drive (AWD):
- Horsepower and torque: 500 hp and 450 lb-ft.
- Range: EPA-estimated 307 miles on a full charge.
- Charging: Uses a standard 11.5 kW onboard charger, adding 37 miles of range per hour with a Level 2 (240V) AC charger.
DC Fast Charging: Both models support DC fast charging at rates of up to 190 kW, which can add up to 76 miles of range in about 10 minutes.

Interior and technology

The cabin of the 2023 LYRIQ is defined by its futuristic, technology-focused design.

33-inch LED display: A massive, curved display serves as both the digital gauge cluster and the infotainment touchscreen.
Advanced features: Standard features on some trims included a 19-speaker AKG audio system, Next-Generation Active Noise Cancellation, and massaging front seats.
Super Cruise: Cadillac’s hands-free driving assistance system was an available option.
Design accents: The interior featured high-end materials, including laser-etched wood patterns and backlit door panels.
Ample legroom: With a long wheelbase, the LYRIQ offered generous legroom in both the front and back rows.

Trim levels

For the 2023 model year, the LYRIQ was simplified into a single trim level, “Luxury,” with either RWD or AWD. A “Debut Edition” was initially offered for reservation, which sold out quickly.

Key considerations

Not a performance EV: While quick, the 2023 LYRIQ prioritizes a smooth and quiet ride over performance, lacking the immediate, neck-snapping acceleration of some competitors.
Limited cargo space: The cargo room is smaller than some rival SUVs in its class, and there is no “frunk” or storage space under the hood.
