- Engine: The Denali was powered by a 6.2-liter aluminum-block Vortec V8 with variable valve timing that was also E85-compatible.
- Horsepower: 403 hp @ 5,700 rpm.
- Torque: 417 lb-ft @ 4,300 rpm.
- Transmission: A heavy-duty 6-speed automatic transmission with a manual shifting mode was standard.
- Drivetrain: It came with a choice of full-time AWD or RWD.
- Towing and payload:
- Maximum towing capacity: Up to 9,400 lbs.
- Payload capacity: Up to 1,623 lbs.
- Fuel economy: EPA-estimated fuel economy was 12 mpg city and 18 mpg highway for the AWD model.
- Comfort: Standard features included heated and cooled perforated leather front seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control.
- Technology: A Bose premium audio system with a USB port was standard. A new hard-drive-based navigation system with real-time traffic and a rearview camera were also standard. A rear-seat DVD entertainment system was optional.

- Wheels: Standard 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum alloy wheels set the Denali apart.

- Headlight issues: The Denali’s headlights and corner marker light assemblies were susceptible to burning out due to heat damage, leading to frustrating recurring problems.
