Windows/Mac/Tablet/Phone Friendly
- Engine: A more powerful 6.2-liter aluminum-block Vortec V8 with variable valve timing, producing 403 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque.
- Transmission: An exclusive heavy-duty 6-speed automatic transmission with a “tap up/tap down” manual shifting mode.
- Drivetrain: Standard all-wheel drive (AWD).
- Towing and payload: A maximum towing capacity of 8,400 lbs and payload of 1,617 lbs.
- Fuel economy: EPA-rated at 13 mpg city and 19 mpg highway.
- Interior: Significantly upgraded cabin with standard leather upholstery, heated 12-way power front seats, a unique center console with wood-grain trim, and dual-zone climate control.
- Technology: An improved audio system with a six-disc CD changer, Bose premium speakers, and optional navigation system and rear-seat DVD entertainment.
- Exterior: Distinct Denali styling elements, including a signature chrome grille, body-color bumpers, and chrome trim. It rode on standard 18-inch polished aluminum wheels.
- Engine: The same 6.0-liter Vortec V8 engine from 2006, producing 345 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque.
- Transmission: A 4-speed automatic transmission.
- Drivetrain: Standard all-wheel drive (AWD).
- Towing and payload: Maximum towing capacity of 8,100 lbs and a payload of 1,575 lbs.
- Engine: Less powerful 6.0L V8 and a 4-speed automatic, compared to the new model’s 6.2L V8 and 6-speed automatic.
- Interior: Retained the previous generation’s interior design, with the upscale Denali trim offering luxury features like leather seats and Bose audio, but without the styling updates and higher-end materials of the new model.
- Safety: Lacked the newly added safety features like side-curtain airbags and stability control, which were standard on the redesigned crew cab.
- Rust: Body and frame rust can be a concern, especially in northern climates.
- Fuel economy: Both models, particularly the older “Classic” with its less efficient drivetrain, suffer from poor fuel economy.
- Interior quality: Despite luxury appointments, some interior components can wear over time or feel less premium compared to newer vehicles
