- Engine: The 2020 Ford GT is powered by a mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine, now producing 660 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque.
- Upgrades: Ford enhanced the engine with gallery-cooled pistons, higher-energy ignition coils, and a broader torque band.
- Exhaust: A new, premium Akrapovič titanium exhaust system was made standard, reducing weight by 9 pounds and producing a more resonant sound.
- Cooling: Enhanced engine cooling and airflow updates included new buttress air ducts that increased airflow by 50% and larger intercoolers.
- Transmission: A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission delivers power to the rear wheels.
- Suspension: The suspension damping was increased in Track mode to improve handling and body control. The adjustable suspension can drop the car by 50 mm in Track mode.
- Brakes: The Ford GT is equipped with Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes.
- Performance data:
- 0–60 mph: Claimed at 2.8 to 3.0 seconds.
- Top Speed: 216 mph.
- This new option for 2020 replaced the exterior paint with a clear coat, showing off the car’s intricate, lightweight carbon fiber weave.
- The elaborate process of creating the Liquid Carbon finish added three weeks to the production time.
- The Liquid Carbon Edition came standard with carbon fiber wheels.
- For 2020, the iconic blue and orange livery was updated with a black pinstripe to separate the colors, honoring the 1968 and 1969 Le Mans-winning GT40.
- The optional exterior number switched from 9 to 6 for the 2020 model year, matching the historic back-to-back winning car, chassis No. 1075.
- For the first time on a Heritage model, carbon fiber wheels were offered as an option.
- Driver-oriented cabin: The cockpit features a digital instrument cluster that changes based on the selected drive mode, and most controls are integrated into the steering wheel.
- Track-focused design: The two-seater interior is designed for a pure driving experience. The seats are fixed, and drivers adjust the pedals and steering wheel for optimal positioning.
- Connectivity: The infotainment system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
- Production: The Ford GT is built in Markham, Ontario, by Multimatic, a Canadian engineering and manufacturing firm.
