- Engine: The sole engine for the 2013 model year is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 120 horsepower and 112 lb-ft of torque. While not exceptionally fast, the engine provides peppy performance for a lightweight vehicle.
- Transmission: A five-speed manual transmission was standard, while an optional PowerShift six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission was available.
- Performance:
- Fuel Economy: The Fiesta is very fuel efficient, with an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 29 mpg city and 39 mpg highway for automatic models.
- Handling: The Fiesta is praised for its agile handling and comfortable ride, making it an enjoyable car to drive in the city.
- S: The base trim, available as a sedan or hatchback, includes standard features like air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, and power locks.
- SE: Adds more comfort and convenience features, including keyless entry, power windows, and an upgraded audio system.
- Titanium: The top-tier trim, which was introduced for 2013, features premium amenities such as leather upholstery, heated front seats, a push-button start, and the SYNC with MyFord Touch infotainment system.
- PowerShift automatic transmission: The dual-clutch automatic transmission is notorious for a number of problems.
- Hesitation and indecisiveness: The transmission can be indecisive, especially at low speeds, with clunky and hesitant shifts.
- Shuddering and slipping: The clutch packs were prone to premature wear, causing shuddering and slipping during acceleration.
- Lawsuits: These problems led to class-action lawsuits against Ford, as the company failed to find a lasting fix for the transmission’s reliability issues.
- Door latches: A recall was issued in 2015 for faulty door latches that could cause the doors to open unexpectedly while the vehicle was in motion. This recall was expanded in 2020.
- Infotainment system: Users have reported problems with the SYNC infotainment system, including unresponsiveness.
- Airbag recall: In 2012, a recall was issued for faulty side airbags on some 2011–2013 Fiesta models.
