- Engine change: The 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel engine is no longer an option.
- Unchanged platform: All other aspects of the van, from its design to its interior, remain essentially unchanged from previous model years.
- Standard Engine: A 4.3L V6 engine delivers 276 horsepower and 298 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
- Optional Engine: A 6.6L V8 engine produces 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. This engine is matched with a heavy-duty six-speed automatic transmission.
- Towing and Payload: With the V8 engine and proper equipment, the Express boasts a class-leading maximum towing capacity of up to 10,000 pounds and a max payload of 4,280 pounds for cargo models.
- Drivetrain: All 2023 Express vans are rear-wheel drive.
- Wheelbase: Both standard and extended wheelbases are available.
- Standard features: Standard equipment includes an AM/FM stereo with MP3 compatibility, a rearview camera with a display in the rearview mirror, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.
- Seating (Passenger Van):
- 12-passenger and 15-passenger configurations are available.
- Standard equipment includes rear heating and air conditioning, a 120-volt power outlet, and two auxiliary outlets.
- The LT trim adds features like cruise control, cloth upholstery, and carpeting.
- Cargo (Cargo Van):
- The standard wheelbase offers 239.4 cubic feet of cargo space, while the extended version has 283.6 cubic feet.
