-
2.5L I4
: The standard engine, producing 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, it is generally sufficient for daily driving but lacks power for heavier loads.
-
3.6L V6
: This optional engine produces 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It delivers strong acceleration and a higher towing capacity.
-
2.8L Duramax® Turbo-Diesel
: An available option that provides 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, this engine is known for its excellent fuel economy and best-in-class towing.
- Max towing: Up to 7,700 pounds with the available Duramax diesel engine.
- Max payload: The maximum payload capacity is up to 1,550 pounds with the 3.6L V6 engine.
-
Work Truck (WT)
: The base model includes a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
-
LT
: Adds convenience features such as an upgraded 8-inch infotainment system, cruise control, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.
-
Z71
: The off-road-focused trim comes with a Z71 Off-Road Suspension Package, locking rear differential, and hill descent control.
-
ZR2
: The most capable off-road trim features a factory-installed 2-inch suspension lift, Multimatic DSSV™ dampers, and locking front and rear differentials.
-
ZR2 Bison
: An even more extreme off-road special edition that was the result of a collaboration with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) and added steel skid plates, unique wheels, and upgraded bumpers.
- Infotainment: A 7-inch or 8-inch touchscreen with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is available.
- Interior materials: Some reviewers noted the interior contained a lot of hard plastics, even in higher trims, which may feel less premium than rivals.
- Storage: The rear seats in Crew Cab models do not fold flat, which limits in-cabin storage for larger items.
- Driver-assistance features: Standard safety features are limited, with key features like forward collision warning and lane departure warning only available as options.
- Seat belt bolts: Some 2021 models were recalled because incorrect bolts may have been used to secure the seat belts, which could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
- Emissions recall: Certain 2.8L diesel models were recalled to reprogram the engine control module (ECM) to ensure compliance with emissions standards.
- Check your VIN: You can check for any open recalls on a specific vehicle by entering its VIN on the official NHTSA website.
