- Engine: All 2023 XT4 models were powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
- Horsepower: 235 hp.
- Torque: 258 lb-ft, available from 1500 to 4000 rpm.
- Transmission: A 9-speed automatic transmission was standard.
- Drivetrain: Front-wheel drive was standard, with an available twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system.
- Fuel economy: The EPA-estimated mileage was up to 30 mpg highway for FWD models.
- Available active sport suspension: The Sport trim offered an optional Active Sport Suspension with continuous damping control to improve ride and handling.

- Sport: Included a gloss-black grille, body-colored door handles, a sport steering wheel, and exclusive carbon-fiber or wood interior accents.
- Standard safety features: Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert were made standard on all trims.
- New exterior colors: Two new paint colors were added to the lineup: Radiant Red Tintcoat and Argent Silver Metallic.
- Amazon Alexa built-in: Alexa functionality was integrated into the infotainment system.
- Half-shaft recall: A recall was issued in early 2023 for some 2023 Cadillac XT5 and GMC Acadia models for an improperly connected half-shaft. Though the XT4 was listed in some search results, it was not directly affected by this specific recall.
- Infotainment system: While praised for its usability, the CUE system in this generation could occasionally freeze or become unresponsive.
- Early-year issues: While most significant teething pains from the first model year were addressed, some owners still reported minor electrical or transmission glitches.
