- Standard Engine (Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport): A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
- Available Engine (Premium Luxury): A 2.7-liter dual-volute turbocharged four-cylinder with 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
- CT4-V Engine: A high-output version of the 2.7-liter engine, making 325 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque and paired with the 10-speed automatic.
- Luxury (Base): Included wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and standard safety features like automated emergency braking.
- Premium Luxury: Upgraded the interior with genuine leather seating, ambient lighting, and 18-inch wheels. It also added more standard safety features, such as blind-spot monitoring, and was the only trim to offer the mid-tier 2.7L engine as an option.
- Sport: Featured more aggressive styling with a performance grille, unique fascias, a rear spoiler, and sport seats. This trim came standard with the 2.0L engine.
- CT4-V: The performance-oriented V-Series included the powerful 325-hp 2.7L engine, a sport-tuned adaptive suspension with Magnetic Ride Control, Brembo brakes, and a limited-slip differential.
- Transmission valve defect (March 2025): A recall was issued for vehicles with the 10-speed transmission, including certain 2020–2021 CT4s. The defect can cause internal damage and, in rare cases, momentary wheel lock-up.
- Air bag malfunctions (August 2021): A recall was issued for incorrectly installed roof rail side-curtain air bags that could result in improper deployment during a crash.
- Faulty engine control modules (December 2023): A fix was released for 2.0L engine models with incorrectly calibrated Engine Control Modules that could fail to indicate a catalytic converter issue.
- Exterior lighting (December 2022): A recall for an issue where the daytime running lights (DRLs) might not deactivate when the headlights were on.
- Experts (e.g., Edmunds and Car and Driver) often note that while the
CT4
is a great handler with strong engine options, its interior materials and design are not as refined as rivals. They also point out the cramped back seat and small trunk.
- Consumers (e.g., Kelley Blue Book) tend to rate the
CT4
highly, with many praising its styling, performance, and features. Some owners who purchased the V-Series especially appreciated the handling and engine.
