For 2019, the Edge gets a standard turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-chamber motor combined with another 8-speed programmed transmission with a Sport driving mode. Run it on premium fuel, and it makes 245 pull at 5,500 rpm and 275 lb.- ft. of torque at 3,000 rpm. All-wheel drive is discretionary with the powertrain.
Pick the Edge ST, and you’ll get a splendid twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 motor turning out 335 hp at 5,550 rpm and 380 lb.- ft. of torque at 3,250 rpm. The ST gets standard AWD, alongside other mechanical alterations that make it truly amusing to drive.
The Edge Titanium test vehicle had the turbocharged 4-chamber. In ordinary driving mode, this motor conveyed lopsided reaction from a quit, sounding and feeling hesitant about what it should do. There are two potential clarifications for this conduct:
A 8-speed programmed transmission endeavoring to expand efficiency.
Likely, both add to this disappointing vibe of motor stagger. Change to Sport mode to kill this disturbing character quality, however mileage will endure. Additionally, each time you re-start the Edge, it will be in ordinary mode, so you’ll have to make sure to change to Sport mode.
Else, I have no bad things to say about the Edge’s standard drivetrain. What’s more, since I am an enthusiast of revolving shifters, that new structure component, situated on the inside reassure, isn’t an issue for me.
