- 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder: Standard on LS and LT trims, this engine produces 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a standard 6-speed manual or optional 8-speed automatic, it provides good fuel economy with an estimated 30 mpg highway rating.
- 3.6L V6: Available on LT trims, this engine generates 335 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque. It is available with a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission.
- 6.2L LT1 V8: Standard on LT1 and SS trims, this engine delivers 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a 6-speed manual or an optional 10-speed automatic transmission.
- 6.2L LT4 Supercharged V8: Exclusive to the ZL1 trim, this potent engine produces 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed manual with Active Rev Matching or an optional 10-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission.
- Transmission issues: A recall was issued for 2020–2022 Camaros with the 10-speed automatic transmission due to a software issue that could cause a momentary wheel lock-up. Additionally, some owners have reported premature clutch wear on manual models.
- Electrical problems: Like other vehicles in this generation, the 2022 Camaro can have electrical issues, such as problems with the infotainment system, windows, and dashboard lighting
.
- Poor visibility: The Camaro has notable blind spots, particularly for shorter drivers. This can make right turns and parking difficult.
- Rear-seat space: The back seats are extremely small and essentially offer upholstered storage space rather than practical seating.
- Interior materials:
Some drivers find the quality of the interior materials to be underwhelming for the vehicle’s price point.
- Transmission software update: A March 2025 recall was issued for 2020–2022 Camaros with the 10-speed automatic transmission to install a software update to prevent a wheel lock-up condition.
- Body control module (BCM): A recall was issued for 2020–2024 Camaros to reprogram the BCM to address a communication issue with the electronic brake control module.
- Engine choice: The V8 engines offer exceptional performance, but the standard 2.0L turbo and 3.6L V6 are both quick and fun to drive, especially when paired with a manual transmission.
- Test drive: It is advisable to test drive the vehicle to get a feel for the blind spots, particularly if you are a shorter driver.
- Inspect recalls:
Before buying a used model, check that all recalls, including the crucial transmission software update, have been addressed.
