- Portable & Convenient – Compact PDF files make storage and access simple from virtually any device.
- Haynes DIY Manuals: Provides a comprehensive digital and print workshop setup detailing routine maintenance schedules, brake overhauls, suspension replacement, and cooling system charts.
- Repair Surge Platform: Offers a searchable, cloud-based database packed with step-by-step diagnostic workflows, wiring diagrams, exact torque specifications, and factory fluid capacities. [1]
- Factory Manuals OEM Specialists: Delivers a massive, VIN-matched interactive PDF service file pulled straight from Ford databases, providing master-level wiring schematics and high-voltage safety protocols.
- The Powerplant: 2.0-Liter Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder gasoline engine paired with a permanent-magnet AC synchronous electric motor.
- Total System Output: Combined 188 Horsepower.
- Transmission Class: Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (eCVT) driven by a rotary gear shift dial.
- Battery Architecture: 1.4-kWh Lithium-Ion battery pack mounted behind the rear seats.
- EPA Fuel Economy: Approximately 43 mpg City / 41 mpg Highway (42 mpg combined).
- Drivetrain Setup: Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) only (unlike the non-hybrid Fusion, AWD was not offered on the Hybrid).
- SE: The well-equipped entry tier. Includes Ford Co-Pilot360, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 10-way power driver’s seat, and the 8-inch SYNC 3 touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
- SEL: Adds premium touches like heated front seats, ActiveX synthetic leather upholstery, LED headlamps, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a premium 11-speaker audio system, and keyless entry with remote start.
- Titanium: The luxury pinnacle. Features genuine leather seating, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a power sunroof, adaptive cruise control, integrated navigation, and a premium 12-speaker Sony audio system.
- Transmission Fluid Life: The eCVT transmission is highly durable compared to traditional belt-driven CVTs. However, to maximize its lifespan, mechanics recommend discarding the “lifetime fluid” marketing claims and performing a transmission fluid exchange every 60,000 miles to protect the internal electric motor windings.
- Reduced Trunk Capacity: Because the 1.4-kWh lithium-ion battery pack is housed directly behind the rear seats, trunk space drops from the standard Fusion’s 16 cubic feet down to 12 cubic feet, creating a noticeable step up in the trunk floor.
- 12V Battery Drain Glitches: A common complaint involves the small 12V auxiliary battery (located in the trunk) draining unexpectedly if the vehicle sits idle for a week. When this battery dies, the entire high-voltage system locks out, preventing the car from “booting up,” even if the hybrid battery is fully charged.
- Brake Pedal Feel: The transition between regenerative electric braking and mechanical friction braking can feel slightly grabby or inconsistent to drivers unfamiliar with hybrid platforms. Regular brake fluid flushes help maintain smooth hydraulic pressure.
