- Level 2 (240V Home/Public Charging): Fully replenishes an empty battery in 9.5 hours utilizing the standard onboard 7.2 kW charger.
- DC Fast Charging: Capable of adding up to 90 miles of range in 30 minutes, though its peak acceptance rate is hardware-capped at 55 kW.
- Early-2019 Models (Korean-Built Cells): Models built earlier in the 2019 production cycle utilize battery cells manufactured at LG Chemical’s plant in Ochang, South Korea. Because these cells shared a higher risk of manufacturing defects (a torn anode tab and a folded separator simultaneously present in the same cell), these vehicles received complete high-voltage battery pack replacements. This updated their capacity to 66 kWh and reset their factory 8-year/100,000-mile structural warranty.
- Late-2019 Models (US-Built Cells): Models built later in the 2019 production run transitioned to cells manufactured at LG’s Holland, Michigan factory. Out of an abundance of caution, GM deployed an advanced diagnostic software patch for these units. This software caps the maximum state-of-charge at 80% for a 6,200-mile diagnostic monitoring window. If no voltage anomalies or cell faults are detected over that span, the software automatically restores the full 100% charging capacity. If an issue is caught, the vehicle triggers a dashboard error message, and GM replaces the pack under warranty.
